Being one of the most sought-after actors in the industry today would definitely mean a tight schedule. However, for one Richard Gutierrez, it also means taking the time out to be a role model for the youth in the country. Text by Erick Mataverde. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Richard did not have any qualms at all gracing the Run for Peace fun run last September 20, 2008 at the Quirino Grandstand in Pasay City. This just made the meaningful event more significant for the thrust of the government to promote peace in the country.
"We're very thankfu to him," says Undersecretary Danilo Consomido of the Office of External Affairs in MalacaƱang when Richard accepted their invitation to attend the said event.
Likewise, Gabby Concepcion was also present to give his support, and realized the importance of this worthy cause: "It would be nice to make a difference that's why I am here. Of course it's hard if you only exist. You want to live, right? And I know I have a reason for being here eh. It's nice to spread the word, right?"
Richard was requested to give an inspirational message to the participants and guests during that day, and he was open as to what he wanted for all and what is needed to attain it: "We all dreamt to have peace and unity in our country. Each of us has their own role to achieve this dream as an epitome of youth.
