In the premiere week of Kamandag, the world of the Ambograw was introduced.Populated by five equally powerful tribes, Ambograw hides many secrets and traditions that could prove fatal to every tribe in the underworld. But none was as great as the secret that the late Haring
Saban’s son was alive and well in the world of mortals. And while Alicia continued to pine for her missing son, Haring Gulog made sure that his wife will never find her first son again.
And in the world of the mortals, the Ambograw secret was almost revealed. With the playful Ikoy and the stubborn snake protecting Vergel, the humans were slowly gaining knowledge about the half-humans from the underworld. But in the land of men, there were secrets that needed to be kept as well. Secrets that could cause harm to other people: slithering secrets that kill men in the middle of the night with the prodding of an evil father, harmless secrets that could turn deadly on nights of the full moon, and secrets that needed to be revealed for the good of all.

Maxene Magalona reveals the meaty TV offers she turned down before finally saying

Maxene recalls that she cried when she found out that DaddyDiDoDu was ending. She had

So noong dumating yan, sabi ko, ang tagal na nila akong kinukuhang maging partner ni Richard (Gutierrez) and magka-soap sa GMA, lagi kong tinatanggihan because of my studies. So now na fourth year na ako in college, sabi ko, baka this is the right time.”

This college senior [she’s taking up Social Sciences at the Ateneo de Manila University] imparts the reasons why she turned down previous offers. “Actually, every time gumagawa si Richard ng soap, tina-try akong kunin nila tita Anabelle (Rama), kasi syempre nga, to try yung chemistry namin,” Maxene explains. “Ang pinaka-unang in-offer sa akin, Mulawin (2004). And then hindi ko nga siya tinaggap because I was supposed to enter college pa lang at that time, e sabi ko, hindi pa ako adjusted sa college; I [still didn’t] know what it’s like in college.”“So when I entered college, ayun na nga, tinangggap ni Angel (Locsin), and sumikat siya. I didn’t have any regrets na ‘Sayang, sana tinaggap ko na lang,’ because at the end of the day, I’m still happy, and she was also happy that she got what she wanted. Si Angel, she soared, she earned so much, she did so much, and she achieved so much, na talagang win-win situation for everyone.”Maxene acknowledges the fact that she comes from a family of celebrities, and this played a big role in her decision to focus on school. “Not a lot of young celebrities have that advantage na like now, I’m so thankful na bumalik na ako [sa acting], and tinatanggap pa rin ako ng Filipino audience. And feeling ko one of th

That’s why medyo nag-lay low muna, one show lang [DaddyDiDoDu], [then] guestings here and there. [Inuna] ko muna studies ko. And that’s when I realized na nakaka-miss. The primetime battle remained one-sided.
Talking about the top spot, Marimar remained unruffled despite Kamandag's unrelenting hustle. On November 26, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes earned 44.9 percent while Kamandag gathered 41.4 percent.
Despite relinquishing the second spot since Kamandag's entry, Zaido is still an adversary to contend with. Last Monday, November 26, Zaido took the fourth spot, pacing 24 Oras's 36.3 percent rating.

Kamandag's Wednesday Episode
Maganda ang Wednesday episode ng Kamandag. Umpisa pa lang ay punong puno na ito ng action. Tinulungan ni Vergel ang batang tinangay ng mga hold upper upang gawing hostage laban sa mga Pulis. Dinala ng mga ito ang bata sa isang Basketball Gym kung saan may isang taong nakakita sa mga pangyayari.
Nagawang sagipin ni Vergel ang kawawang bata, nakilala cya nito. Sabi ng bata "sinabi ko na nga ba super hero ka", ngiti lang ang sagot ni Vergel. At sinabi niya dito na sekreto lang nilang dalawa ito.
Dito narealize ng binata kung ano ang papel nya sa mundo at ano ang kelangan niyang gawin. Kaya umuwi na rin cya sa wakas sa kanila dahil nahanap na niya ang kasagutan sa kanyang mga tanong. Sa pag uwi nya ay naghihintay ang kanyang kababatang c Lily at ang kanyang kapatid. Sa katuwaan ni Lily ay hindi niya namalayang naakap na pala niya c Vergel (Kilig ako).

Dagaw is an upcoming suspense movie of Richard Gutierrez. He plays as Reden. They have started shooting last August and were supposed to be shown last November 2007 but due to the tight schedule of Richard Gutierrez they were not able to finish the movie soon and showing has been moved to June 2008, since Richard also started shooting for his Fantaserye Kamandag which is currently airing on GMA 7 every night.
This is the second horror film produced by GMA films next to OUIJA.
The story centers on a group of vacationers in an isolated island in Visayas, and a doppelganger.

GAGAMBINO is said to be the next project of Richard Gutierrez after Kamandag in Philippine Primetime. GMA 7 will do the remake of Carlo J. Caparas Comic masterpiece. Tentative schedule for airing is on February 2008 [subject to change].
I wonder if this will be like Spiderman or something different.. Oh well, all I have to do is wait 'til it will be aired on GMA but one thing is for sure this will be another exciting Primetime Fantaserye [or Gagambaserye?!].

DON’T be surprised if Richard Gutierrez is smiling from ear to ear these days. His “Kamandag” is rating a consistent 42% above every night, making it one of GMA7’s highest-rating shows. “And generally, maganda ang feedback so all of us in the show
are very pleased and we’re confident tataas pa ang rating in the weeks to come as the story gets more and more exciting,” he says. He’s only happy that he was chosen by GMA Films to be Marian Rivera’s leading man in the first movie she’s filming after “Marimar” hit it big. The number one actor and the number one actress of GMA7 are now paired in GMA Films’ special Valentine presentation, “A Very Special Love.” Supporting him and Marian are JC de Vera, Ehra Madrigal and Paolo Paraiso. Marian has yet to shoot as she still has to go to the U.S. with “Marimar” partner Dingdong Dantes to launch GMA Pinoy TV in Las Vegas. Doesn’t Richard miss Angel Locsin who’s usually his partner in the Valentine flicks he’s been doing almost yearly for the past three years? “After we shot that commercial in Thailand, I haven’t heard from her anymore. I’m sure busy kasi siya at busy rin naman ako. But I’m very positive this new tandem with Marian will also be accepted warmly by the public. At least, bago naman ang makakasama ko rito.”

NAPAKALAKAS talaga ng dating ng bagongs serye sa telebisyon ni Richard Gutierrez na may titulong Kamandag. At marami nga ang nagsasabi na ilang panaho

Mayroon silang bagong characters na fictional at ang dating nga ng serye, kung kami ang tatanungin, ay mas matindi pa roon sa Mulawin na ginawa nila noon na nag-set ng panibagong trend sa telebisyon. Fantasy pa rin ang dating ng Kamandag ni Richard, na sinasabi nga nilang mukhang siya lang ang makagagawa dahil iyon daw hitsura ni Richard ay mukhang bida talaga sa fantasy series. MANILA, Philippines -- Like a true Pinoy, Brandon Vera dunks his pan de sal in his coffee cup before wolfing it down.
The mixed martial arts specialist, who is in town to train actor Richard Gutierrez for "Kamandag," surprised the GMA 7 show's cast and crew because he speaks Tagalog and has retained very Filipino traits.
Case in point: He says that he prefers the pan de sal made by a small bakery in San Diego, California, to that one sold by a famous franchise because "it's not Americanized."
He has eight tattoos. "All alibata words: apoy (fire), hangin (wind), bundok (mountain), tubig (water), pamilya (family) and Diyos (God). I'm planning to get one more, a Philippine flag, on my right arm."A fan of Vera's, Gutierrez had personally requested GMA 7 to hire the heavyweight as his fight instructor.

Fortunately, Vera's sister Michelle is a fan of Pinoy show biz. "She loves Richard," Vera relates.Brandon was equally star-struck when he visited "Showbiz Central." He admits, "Rufa Mae Quinto was my first crush."
"He gave up a lot of jobs in the US for this one because he loves the Philippines," says Jeff Clark, Vera's manager.

He describes Gutierrez as an apt student. "I was surprised. I thought I'd have a hard time, but our training went smoothly. I suppose he's as good a student as he is an actor."

SNEAK PEEK OF KAMANDAG LAUNCHING
Photos are taken during the Grand Launching of Kamandag Last November 18, 2007 at UP Theater. The cast had been introduced. Though marami ang nagsabing medyo bitin ang launching kasi maikli lang yung oras. Hoping na mas naintroduce ng maayos ang mga cast. Wala c Gardo Versusa sa Grand Launch ang gumanap na ama ni Richard Gutierrez sa Kamandag.
Dalawa sa RGGFC members ang nakadalo sa Grand Launch ng Kamandag para suportahan c Chard, cna Rayne at Anne, at nagkaroon din sila ng chance na ma-meet ang mga chardwel supporters.
Successful din ang first week nito. Hindi pa bumaba sa 40% ang ratings. Sana tuloy tuoly na ang pamamayagpag ng kamandag.
Last Friday ay nalaman na ni Vergel (batang vergel) na cya ay isang ambog. Nako-control na rin nya ang kapangyarihang taglay niya.

GUSTONG bumalik agad sa Pilipinas ni Brandon Vera dahil nami-miss na niya ang buong cast at staff ng Kamandag. Mahusay ang naging pag-aasikaso ng mga ito sa kanya habang naririto, kaya feeling ni Brandon, kulang ang ginawang two-week stay sa bansa. Isa pa, gusto rin niyang ituloy ang nasimulang pag-aartista, kaya naman panay ang text niya sa mga kasamahan sa Kamandag, kung saan bukod sa pagiging personal fight instructor ng bidang si Richard Gutierrez, ginagampanan din niya ang papel ng isang hired assassin. Ang promise raw ni Brandon, babalik siya bago mag-Pasko at dapat, hintayin siya ng Kamandag cast and staff bago sila mag-Christmas party.

PAGBALIK ni Brandon, isa rin sa mga pag-uusapan ay ang negosyong itatayo nila ni Richard Gutierrez dito sa Manila. Nakatakda rin siyang bumili ng bahay na paghahatian din nila ni Richard. Puring-puri ni Brandon ang anak ni Annabelle Rama. Sobrang bait daw nito’t hindi feeling superstar. Sikat daw si Richard sa Filipino community sa America dahil sa GMA Pinoy TV. Pati sister nga raw niya’y crush na crush ang kakambal ni Raymond. Ang hindi nabanggit ay kung isasama rito ni Brandon ang kapatid na dalaga para personal na makilala si Richard.

TALAGANG kailangan pa rin naman pala ang stars na may malakas na following para masiguro ang ratings ng isang TV show. May mga nagsasabi nga sa amin na nasira na ang star system sa ating bansa nang sumikat ang ibang TV shows na walang masyadong malalaking stars.
Pero, nang ilabas iyong bagong serye ni Richard Gutierrez (Kamandag), at sa unang araw pa lamang ay tinalo na nito ang tele-serye ni Dennis Trillo na biglang bagsak sa No. 3 spot, aba , eh, maliwanag na lamang pa rin talaga ang sikat na mga star.May nagsasabi naman na baka kaya ganoon ang nangyari ay dahil parang bagsak ngayon ang popularidad ni Dennis Trillo dahil sa hindi magagandang tsismis na kanyang kinasangkutan. Eh, papaano mo naman maipapaliwanag iyong marami pa siyang ibang young stars na kasama roon at hindi pa rin sila makaabante laban kay Richard?

Whammy! Push Your Luck escaped Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal's gallant stand last Tuesday, November 20. Carrying a slim margin, Paolo Bediones and Rufa Mae Quinto's game show on GMA-7 posted a 23.5 percent rating against Kris Aquino's ABS-CBN game show, 22.4 percent, to claim the top spot anew in the daytime column.Despite falling short once again, Deal or No Deal's Tuesday performance was strong enough to outmuscle Eat Bulaga, Daisy Siete, and Pasan Ko ang Daigdig—all perennial topnotchers in the group.
In the primetime race, Marimar remained rock solid at the No. 1 spot, with Kamandag looming steadily at second place. Collecting a 43.4 percent rating last Tuesday, Marimar still got the better of Richard Gutierrez's new fantaserye, which registered a 40.9 percent rating.Unpredictable Lastikman pulled a 24.2 percent rating to shoot its way back to the Top 10. Lastikman was followed by Princess Sarah's 23.7 percent grade.
Wednesday, November 21, still belonged to Whammy! although following it this time was Eat Bulaga. Settling at second best, Eat Bulaga! tallied a 22.4 percent rating to beat Daisy Siete's 21.8 percent. Filling in the bottom part were Pilipinas, Game KNB? (17.8 percent) and Pinoy Movie Hits (17.4 percent).Marimar once again topped the primetime block, while four other Kapuso shows made it into the Top 5—Kamandag (No. 2, 40.1 percent), Zaido (No. 3, 36.8 percent), 24 Oras (No. 4, 33.3 percent), and La Vendetta (No. 5, 31.8 percent). Another GMA-7 show, Hwang Jini, tied with Lastikman in No. 10 with identical 21.5 percent rating.Meanwhile, the sixth to ninth spots were occupied by ABS-CBN programs: TV Patrol World (28.1 percent), Princess Sarah (27.2 percent), Pangarap na Bituin (26.1 percent), and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition (24.2 percent).
November 22, Thursday, was more interesting as daytime shows were locked in fierce competition, resulting in deadlocks.Eat Bulaga! and Daisy Siete both got 22.5 percent rating to share the top spot while Wowowee, Pasan Ko ang Daigdig, and Deal or No Deal each collected a rating of 19.3 to crowd the No.3 position.The logjam enabled other programs usually outside the Top 10 to barge in like Prinsesa ng Banyera, which accumulated a rating of 13 percent, good for ninth spot, followed by SiS's 10.5 percent.Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, meanwhile, improved its ranking thanks to the voluntary exit of two of its housemates, Mcoy Fundales and Ethel Booba. PBB moved a few steps higher to nail the No.6 position with its 28.4 percent rating.
But it's business as usual in the Top 10 positions as the top five slots were occupied by five Kapuso shows while the bottom half were occupied by Kapamilya shows.Here are the Top 10 shows for daytime and primetime programming from November 20 to 22 according to the overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households:
