Magpakailanman" retrospective airs on GMA-7 starting January 10

May last hurrah pa ang Magpakailanman ng GMA-7.

As a way of saying thank you and a proper goodbye, ibinabalik ng Kapuso Network ang Magpakailanman with a retrospective of its four most memorable episodes during its five years' run. The Best of Magpakailanman will air starting this Thursday, January 10, in its original timeslot after GMA Tele Babad.

Chosen from the more than two hundred twenty episodes of the anthology hosted by Ms. Mel Tiangco are the Untold Story of Jennylyn Mercado, the Ricky Reyes story, the Peachy Dongalo Story and The Edgar Inigo Story starring some of the biggest stars of GMA.

Ang magbubukas ng Best of Magpakailanman ay ang untold story ni Jennylyn Mercado and how she became a battered child at laman ng front page news at the tender age of five.

For the first time, inilabas ni Jennylyn ang tunay na pangyayari sa buhay niya noong musmos pa lamang siya and how she was repeatedly tortured by her stepfather. This is one of the highest rating episodes of Magpakailanman and also the highest rating episode of a StarStruck story kung saan si Jennylyn ang gumanap sa sarili niya with Ms. Lorna Tolentino as her biological mother and Sandy Andolong as her Mama Lydia.

Susundan naman ito ng The Ricky Reyes story, Magpakailanman's original sixth episode noong nagsisimula pa lang ang show.

The highest rating episode of the first season of Magpakailanman, it stars Janno Gibbs as Mother Ricky at isinalaysay ang pagiging mahirap ng pamilya nila noong bata pa lang ang pamosong hairdresser at kung paano siya pinaparusahan ng kaniyang ama dahil sa kaniyang kasarian.

After five episodes (The Didith Reyes story starring Ara Mina; Aeta Law Student story starring Jolina Magdangal; Callboy turned Pastor story starring Cogie Domingo; Tatay Nick septuagenarian high school student story starring Eddie Garcia and a family of mental patients story starring Gina Alajar), ang Ricky Reyes story ang nagtala noon ng unang napakataas na rating for the fledgling show.

The third episode na ibabalik ng Magpakailanman ay ang the Peachy Dongalo story starring Jean Garcia and Gardo Versoza.

The first Magpakailanman episode na nominated as Best Single Drama episode sa Asian TV Award noong 2006, ito rin ang tumalo noon sa special two-part Maalala Mo Kaya episode ni Batangas Governor (then Lipa Mayor) Vilma Santos. Isa sa mga iniyakan ni Ms. Tiangco during its interactive interview, kuwento ito ng isang ina na may apat na anak na lalaki na walang mga anti-bodies ang katawan kung kaya't isa-isa silang namamatay.

The last episode is the Edgar Inigo story starring Richard Gutierrez.

Since magtatapos ang Best of Magpakailanman ng February, very special episode ito for Richard whose birth month is the Valentine month. Kuwento ito ng isang mahirap na binata na sa kagustuhang makasal sa kaniyang girlfriend played by Bianca King ay nagnakaw ng malaking halaga. Sa kasawiang palad, nahuli siya ng pulis at nakulong ng ilang taon. Paglaya niya, nalaman niyang nagpakasal na pala ang kanyang girlfriend sa best friend niya.

Pinagmamalaki ito ni Richard na kauna-unahang role niya na may heavy drama acting at every time na tinatanong siya ng mga memorable roles niya, palagi niya itong ini-include as one of his best.

Papalitan ang Magpakailanman ng isa pang anthology after airing four of its best episodes.
