Maxene: Kami raw ni Richard ang mas bagay

WE visited the taping of “Kamandag” and got to interview Maxene Magalona. What can she say about the allegations of her detractors that she has no chemistry with Richard Gutierrez and that Jewel Mische is the better leading lady than her? “Naku, okay lang ‘yun sa’kin kasi may nagsasabi ring walang chemistry sina Richard at Jewel at kami raw ni Richard ang mas bagay,” she says. “You just can’t please everyone, so the more important thing is for us to just portray our respective roles well. I’m just so happy kasi maganda talaga ang story. I’ve read the whole script at sobrang ganda talaga ang mangyayari sa bawat character in ‘Kamandag’. I myself am so happy with my role as Lily kasi very lovable siya at nagugustuhan siya ng maraming viewers, unlike ‘yung character ko noon sa ‘Daddy Di Do Du’ na sobrang maarte. Si Lily, parang ako in real life. Pareho kaming we stand up for ourselves and we won’t let anyone walk over us.” How does she feel about Alessandra de Rossi joining “Kamandag” as her half-sister who oppresses her? “Alex is one of my few best friends in showbiz and we’re really comfortable with each other kaya I welcome her in the show. Ang saya nga namin when we first taped together for ‘Kamandag’.” And how is she and Richard? “We get along fine kasi pareho kaming mahilig sa movies and music. In between takes, kuwentuhan kami sa set about the latest movies we’ve seen and the newest songs we’ve heard. Mabait siyang katrabaho at madaling makasundo.”
