WE asked Richard Gutierrez if it’s true that Angel Locsin told him when they saw each other: “Ibinebenta kita sa kabila (meaning, ABS-CBN).”
“She did, pero parang playtime lang ‘yun, biruan lang at hindi seryoso,” he says. “At bakit naman ako lilipat kahit saan when I’m perfectly happy and contented with GMA-7. Hindi ako nawawalan ng show at pelikula. ‘Kamandag’ now is rating very high and our movie, ‘My Best Friend’s Girlfriend’, is a big hit, so there’s no reason for me to think of moving anywhere.”
Now that he’s being linked to KC Concepcion, what does his leading lady in “Kamandag”, Jewel Mische, say about this? Is she jealous? “Wala, bakit naman siya magseselos. Walang dahilan.”
Did he ask the permission of Sharon Cuneta to formally woo KC? “I met her na, she’s very nice and very sweet!”
Does that mean he has visited KC at home and this is where he met Sharon?
It took a while before he answered. “Sa akin na lang siguro ‘yun. Basta na-meet ko na siya a few times. Mabait siya. Kung liligawan ko naman si KC, hindi ko itatago. Naghihintay pa lang ako ng right timing.”
Do we have to wait for Valentine’s Day again before he comes up with a new movie? “Hindi na siguro. I heard itutuloy na raw yung thriller na dapat ginawa ko last year, ‘Dagaw’. I’m really excited kasi this one is not a romance like the type of movies I usually do and it’s the first time for me to be directed by Chito Roño. Sana nga, matuloy na this time.”
